Here you can apply for temporary supply teaching work in primary or music schools, as we are regularly looking for staff for a wide variety of supply teaching roles.

It is often possible to accommodate requests for a specific working pattern, adjust working hours e.g. to fit around another job or studies, or offer part-time work. Please state in your application if you are looking for a specific working pattern or part-time work. Temporary cover roles are not always advertised, and in these cases, managers or the HR department will search the applicant pool.

These are temporary positions intended to last for no more than 12 consecutive months, for example due to holiday, sickness, maternity or study leave.

Applications here are only considered for temporary cover positions and will not be taken into account for vacancies that are advertised separately. We therefore encourage you to keep a close eye on all advertised vacancies on the City of Hafnarfjörður website and to apply specifically if a particular position interests you.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. A clean criminal record and a record of good conduct are required, i.e. a good reputation and behaviour and actions, both at and outside of work, must be consistent with the role.

Your application for a locum position is active for six months and will become inactive after that time. You can request to have your application deactivated before then by sending an email to mannaudur@hafnarfjordur.is
