Hafnarfjörður is looking to hire a capable and enthusiastic member of staff for the short-term stay for disabled young people, located in the Setbergshverfi district.

A varied and exciting job opportunity is available in shift work. The position is 80-100% and requires the ability to work morning, evening, night and weekend shifts. Work is carried out in accordance with a set philosophy. Servant leadership. Appointment from and including 1 May 2026.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Providing service users with support with activities of daily living
  • Follow plans and procedures
  • Striving to enhance the quality of life and independence of disabled people and to promote their empowerment.
  • General household chores
  • Have fun at work and be a role model for others
  • Other tasks as per the job description and as assigned by a superior.

Competency requirements:

  • Experience in a comparable role 
  • Interest in the affairs of disabled people
  • Service-mindedness and positivity at work
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Initiative and conscientiousness
  • Independent working methods and flexibility in work
  • Knowledge of Icelandic is a requirement.
  • Physical ability to carry out tasks in the workplace

The condition is that the person has reached the age of 20 and has a clean criminal record.

Salary in accordance with the current collective agreement between the Federation of Icelandic Municipalities and the Hafnarfjörður Staff Association.
