Hafnarfjörður is looking for positive and ambitious summeran employee in The Rock. The Rock is leisure, – and functionalityResource for disabled children and young people aged 10–20. This is a 100% position. in age-group categories where a variety of activities are on offer and Support for young peoplepeople in employment-related activitymeans. 

The summer job is particularly well suited to those who want to work with children and young people and Take part in creative and lively activities. The aim of the activities is to give participants the opportunity to discover new hobbies.take part in a variety of work tasks and become socially stronger.  

Working hours are every weekday from 8:00–16:00 or 08:30-16:30. 

Key responsibilities and duties 
• Be a positive role model and have a constructive influence on children and young people in daily life. 
• Participate in the planning, preparation and delivery of a varied leisure activities programme in collaboration with staff and participants. 
• To create a safe, respectful and positive atmosphere, based on democratic working practices. 
• Provide participants with support with activities of daily living, according to individual needs. 
• To promote the independence, social skills and well-being of individuals in their work. 
• Other duties as described in the job description or as requested by a supervisor. 

Educational and competency requirements 
• Experience of working with children and young people. 
• Experience of working with children with disabilities is desirable. or young people 
• Autonomous and organised work methods. 
• Good communication and collaboration skills. 
• Initiative and a positive attitude. 
• Proficiency in Icelandic is a requirement. 

Conditions 
• Applicants must have passed 18 at the age of. 
• A clean criminal record is a prerequisite. 

Terms of employment 
Pay is paid in accordance with the collective agreement between the Association of Icelandic Local Authorities and the Hafnarfjörður Staff Association.
