Hafnarfjörður is looking for a foreman for the Hafnarfjörður Work Camp.
The Work Experience Programme is seeking ambitious and responsible individuals to fill the position of Field Supervisor this summer. The role is temporary and lasts for 2–4 months between May/June and July/August.
This is a fun job with young people. The supervisors of the Work Club are the next in command of the team leaders, who lead groups of young people in a variety of tasks related to town maintenance and tidying up. The Summer Work Scheme has around 30 team leaders over the summer and provides summer jobs and work experience for over 1,000 young people aged 14–17.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Work planning at the Work School
- General administration and support for the work of the Work School's group leaders.
- Other tasks as per the job description and as assigned by a superior.
Competency requirements:
- Experience in a similar role is an advantage.
- Experience of working with children and young people
- Knowledge of supervision and gardening is an advantage.
- Agility in communication, flexibility and cooperativeness
- Initiative and autonomy in work methods
- General computer skills

The salary is in accordance with the collective agreement between the Association of Icelandic Local Authorities and the Hlíf Trade Union.
