Hraun-West, plot IB2. Amendment to the Master Plan of Hafnarfjörður 2013–2025.

At the meeting of the Planning and Building Committee of Hafnarfjörður on 31 January 2020, the following resolution was passed: A new planning statement, dated 29 January 2020, was submitted regarding the proposed amendment to the 2013-2025 Master Plan for Hafnarfjörður. The amendment concerns a 10-hectare plot in Hraunum-vestur, bounded by Flatahrauni, Hjallahrauni, Reykjavíkurvegur and the AT1 industrial area to the west. The land use of the plot is changed from residential area (ÍB2) to a central area. Furthermore, the planning statement, which was approved by the Planning and Building Committee on 30 April 2018, shall be withdrawn.

The Planning and Building Committee agrees to withdraw its decision of 30 April 2018 regarding the approval of the statement of case for the amendments to the general plan. The Planning and Building Committee approves the submitted planning statement dated. 29.1.2020 and that the procedure shall be in accordance with Article 1 of Article 30 of the Planning Act. The above-mentioned approvals are referred to the Town Council for confirmation. The Town Council of Hafnarfjörður confirmed the decision of the Planning and Building Committee at its meeting on 5 February 2020.

When work on a proposal for an amendment to the general plan begins, the local council shall prepare a description of the planning project which sets out the council's planning objectives and information on the underlying assumptions, pending policies and the proposed planning process, such as public consultation and engagement with residents of the municipality and other stakeholders.
