Spit together 15 January – 15 February
Let's Move Together is a project by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, the Icelandic Sports Confederation, the Federation of Icelandic Sports Associations, Healthy Communities and Sýn, which aims to get people to be active.
Stroll with the dog. Stroll with the mountains. Stroll with mum and dad. Stroll with friends. Challenge your friends or colleagues to a casual step challenge!
Slöbbum saman is a project by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, the Icelandic Sports Federation, the Icelandic Association of Sport and Olympic Organisations, the Health-Promoting Community, and Sýn, which is now being launched with the aim of encouraging people to get moving. The Healthy Town of Hafnarfjörður is, of course, actively taking part and encourages the residents of Hafnarfjörður and friends of the town to go for a walk and enjoy themselves.
Few things are as beneficial for body and soul as exercise, and light exercise is something most of us can do. Residents and all interested parties are encouraged to get out and go for a walk, but as the weather isn't always on our side at this time of year, we're keeping our sense of humour and are therefore going to go SLUDGE walking together. So, get out there with your friends, family, sewing circle or work colleagues, and go for a Slabba together to boost body and soul.
Hafnarfjörður offers a sea of possibilities for outdoor activities, exercise and entertainment.. The outdoor recreational areas are varied, so everyone can find an activity to suit them. So it's ideal to go for a swim afterwards!
How do I take part?
You can register for visir.is/slobbumsaman or share photos on social media with the hashtag #slobbumsaman. Once a week, entries and tagged photos are drawn and the person receives a fun little treat. Put on your boots, lace up your shoes, put on your helmet and get going. Don't forget your smartphone/watch and track your progress. Tracking progress adds to the fun for some!
