Now that the days are starting to get shorter, it is essential to remind everyone of the importance of wearing a high-visibility vest or reflective clothing, and having a good light on all vehicles. The Healthy Town of Hafnarfjörður has now given all 6-year-old children a high-visibility vest as a gift.

With an autumn gift for six-year-olds, the City of Hafnarfjörður wishes to remind parents of the importance of reflectors and visibility in traffic, and to contribute to increasing the children's safety at the start of their primary school journey. Parents and guardians of all children and young people are encouraged to ensure they use reflective materials and to check their own reflectivity and visibility. It is best to have reflective markings on the front of the sleeves, hanging down the sides, on shoes, or at the bottom of trouser legs. Reflective markings on clothing and lights on bikes increase safety and visibility, which is crucial during the winter months in the dark and on icy roads. The more reflective material in more places, the better.
