Reflective badges a gift from Healthy Hafnarfjörður

For several years, the health-promoting town of Hafnarfjörður has given all six-year-old children in the town's primary schools a high-visibility badge as a gift each autumn. The gifts are currently being distributed to the schools, with the delivery handled by the Geitungarnir. The wasps are a tempting offer where an effort is made to have a diverse range of options and to offer work experience/trials in the mainstream job market with neurodivergent people.

Now that the days are starting to get shorter, it is essential to remind people of the importance of wearing a reflector or reflective clothing, and having a good light on all vehicles. With a gift for six-year-olds, the City of Hafnarfjörður wishes to remind everyone of the importance of reflectors and visibility on the roads, and to contribute to increasing the children's safety as they begin their primary school education. Parents and guardians of all children and young people are encouraged to ensure the use of reflectors and to also ensure their own visibility and safety. It is best to have reflectors on the front of the sleeves, hanging down the sides, on shoes, or at the bottom of trouser legs. Reflective markings on clothing and lights on bicycles increase safety and visibility, which is crucial during the winter months in the dark and on icy roads. The more reflective material on as many surfaces as possible, the better.
