Lots going on in the Knitting Corner

News Christmas Town

Soffía M. Gísladóttir, owner of Prjónahornið, is a nurse who realised her dream of opening a shop.

Christmas is coming to the Knitting Corner

„This opportunity just fell into our laps,“ says Soffía M. Gísladóttir, owner of Prjónahornið, which she opened in April this year with her family at 2 Lækjargata in Hafnarfjörður.

The Knitting Corner sells her favourite yarn from the Italian manufacturer. Lana Gatto along with other knitting-related items. That's not all. Her husband sells watches under the brand name Sigma, and her daughter sells her own paintings. The Knitting Corner is featured in the City of Hafnarfjörður's Christmas magazine.

„So, the family and I are here with our hobbies, and our younger daughter has done all the background work on setting up the computer and the website.“

Soffía is a qualified nurse and worked for nearly two decades in the operating theatre at Orkuhúsið. She wove her poem into a cross and chose her hobby, handicrafts. Then she sells unique diaries from Paper Republic.

„I write in diaries myself, so I thought it was only fitting to offer real books.“ There is much to be found in Prjónahornið, making it well worth a stop in this gorgeous shop. The family is now looking forward to their first Christmas in business.

„Yes, we're all excited and I'm very excited, as I'm such a big kid at Christmas.“
