Positive changes at Björkurnar
From the next month, the Björk Gymnastics Club will formally take over the operation of the sports facilities associated with the club.

New operating agreement between the municipality and Bjarki
A contract was recently signed between Hafnarfjörður and the gymnastics club Bjarkar regarding the operation of the Björk sports centre. From the start of the new year, Bjarkir will take over the running of the sports facilities previously used by the club, and the contribution from the City of Hafnarfjörður will be equivalent to the cost the municipality would have incurred in running them. There will be no changes to the staff's terms and conditions. From the start of the new year, the current manager of Bjarkar will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Sports Centre on behalf of Bjarkar's main board. The City of Hafnarfjörður will continue to use the sports halls, outdoor areas, and changing and shower facilities at the sports centre for school sports and sports for the senior citizens' association.
