Meaning of additional barrels

A team from the Environment and Planning Department of Hafnarfjörður is going around the town this week to mark the additional bins for which an extra charge is paid on top of the refuse collection fee.

Additional bins are generally only available for detached properties, but each property pays a refuse collection fee for the disposal of:

1x 240L dual-compartment bin for food waste and mixed waste

1x 240L bin for plastic

1x 240L paper bin

Additional drums that not A separate surcharge is payable for these items, which will not be removed until the surcharge has been processed.
