At a meeting between town councillors and the mayor with MPs from the Southwest constituency on Thursday, 1 October, various urgent matters were discussed. These included road matters, particularly the junction of Krýsuvíkurvegur and the Reykjanesbraut, along with a discussion on finance, the state's collection costs and a reduction in the insurance levy.
Representatives of Hafnarfjörður also discussed the reduction of public jobs in the town, the premises of the former St. Joseph's Hospital, the need for more places in day care for the elderly, the reception of refugees, and the construction of rental flats, rent for residential units for disabled people and the relocation of power lines from residential areas.
