    • 2206222 – Reykjanesbraut dualling, Krýsuvíkurvegur Hvassahraun, contract

      A draft agreement between Hafnarfjörður and the Road Administration on cost-sharing was presented. Sigurður Haraldsson, the Director of the Department, attended the meeting.

      The Town Council approves the attached agreement between the City of Hafnarfjörður and the National Road Administration on cost-sharing for the dualling of the Reykjanes Highway, whereby the City of Hafnarfjörður's share of the total project cost is approximately 10.31%.

      Draft agreements were presented for 8-10 Strandgata and 3 Linnetstígur.

    • 2209929 – Reykjavíkurvegur, Strandgata, traffic safety

      For discussion.

      Representatives of the Social Democratic Party discussed the safety of pedestrians and cyclists across Reykjavíkurveg above Flatahraun and the possibility of improvements, such as the construction of an underpass or a footbridge. The matter was referred to the Department of Operations and the Environment and Operations Committee.

    • 2306007 – Street lighting, lighting at pedestrian crossings

      Representatives of the Social Democratic Party request information on the status of upgraded lighting at pedestrian crossings in the town. In particular, they request information on the status of these matters in the town centre.

      It is proposed that the matter be referred for further consideration to the Department of Environment and Operations and to the Environment and Operations Committee.

      Renewal of lease agreement

      The Hafnarfjörður Town Council approved a new master plan for a large part of the harbour area on 5 February 2020, which provides for, among other things, a significant change in the land use of the area. Furthermore, on 31 August, the town council approved an amended general plan for the area, which then came into force with its publication in Part B of the Government Gazette on 27 January. The amendment also provides for a change in land use. In line with the above, the municipality is preparing for changes to the area's detailed plan. In light of the above, the council's position is that lease agreements for plots within the aforementioned area that have expired will not be extended, at least until the revised detailed plan is in place.

      A land application has been submitted by 1540 ehf, applying for plot no. 11 at Tunguhellu, with Tunguhellu 13 as a reserve.

      The Town Council agrees to allocate the plot at Tunguhellu 11 to 1540 ehf. Referred to the Town Council for confirmation.

    • 2305470 – Tunguhella 13, application for a plot

      A site application was submitted by Norðurlöndin ehf, applying for plot no. 13 at Tunguhellu, with plot no. 11 at Tunguhellu as an alternative.

      The Town Council agrees to allocate the plot at Tunguhellu 13 to Norðurlöndin ehf. Referred to the Town Council for confirmation.

    • 2305392 – Virkisás 23, application for a plot of land

      A planning application was submitted by Margrét Eðvarðsdóttir for the plot at 23 Virkisás.

      The Town Council agreed to allocate the plot of land to Margrét Eðvarðsdóttir and referred the matter to the Borough Council for confirmation.

    • 2211486 – Regulations on the Supervisory Board for the Finances of Sports and Youth Organisations

      In accordance with the regulations on the Supervisory Board for the Financial Affairs of Sports and Youth Organisations, the Hafnarfjörður Town Council appoints Atli Jóhannsson, the town auditor, as chairman of the board, and Helgi Arnarson and Sigríður Ármannsdóttir as members for the remainder of the current term. The substitutes are María Sólbergsdóttir and Sigurður Valur Sverrisson.

      A resolution from the regional planning committees on transport between the capital region and the South-West.

    • 2305675 – Youth Council, proposals 2023, council and committee work

      Item 1 from the minutes of the town council meeting of 24th May.
      The Hafnarfjörður Youth Council proposes that the council be more involved in the work of committees and boards. It is proposed that the Youth Council be given either observer or full representative status on these bodies. It is proposed that the matter be referred to the Municipal Council.

    • 2305676 – Youth Council, proposals 2023, remuneration for attending meetings

      Item 1 from the minutes of the town council meeting of 24th May.
      The Hafnarfjörður Youth Council proposes that the municipality properly assess the work of the youth council and pay representatives for attending meetings. It is proposed that the matter be referred to the town council.

    • 2302625 – Night bus

      Representatives of the Social Democratic Party requested a debate on a night bus service in Hafnarfjörður and the possibility of reinstating it in the town. Councillors for the Social Democratic Party will reintroduce their proposal to restart the night bus service in Hafnarfjörður at the next meeting of the town council.

      Representatives of the Social Democratic Party request information on the scope of the measures, the impact on services, the number of staff on strike and at which workplaces. They also request information on where and how many people work in comparable jobs side by side at workplaces but on different terms and conditions.

      Representatives of the Social Democratic Party request itemised payments (unit price and number of hours) to, for example, KPMG and PwC and any other potential parties. They also request comparable information for the years 2017-20023 on the same basis.

      Permission sought from the town council for aerobatics on Fisherman's Day.

      The town council gives a positive recommendation for a permit to be granted for aerobatic flying over the town on Maritime Day.
