The Vocational School plays an important role in the educational community of Hafnarfjörður and serves not only the many young people from Hafnarfjörður who study there, but also students from other parts of the capital region and from all over the country. The Hafnarfjörður Town Council places great emphasis on the importance of a diverse range of further education, particularly vocational training, in the municipality, and requests information and consultation regarding the future of the Hafnarfjörður Vocational School. The town council emphasises that the operations of the Hafnarfjörður Vocational School will continue in the town.“Adda María Jóhannsdóttir also spoke. Item 3 from the minutes of the BÆJH meeting of 13 April: A proposal regarding the Marketing Bureau of Hafnarfjörður was taken up for discussion. “The Town Council supports the preparatory group's proposal for the establishment of a Marketing Office for Hafnarfjörður, which was set up following an open meeting on the matter at Hafnarborg on 17th March. The proposals include a six-month preparatory phase, during which the operations will be defined, participants for the project will be recruited, and the first projects will be launched. The following proposal was put forward: “Representatives of the Social Democratic Party propose to the City Council that an initiative be launched to enhance queer education and counselling in Hafnarfjörður's primary schools.„ The City of Hafnarfjörður will seek to enter into a partnership agreement with the organisation “78" for the development of curriculum material for all year groups of the lower secondary school, from 1st to 10th grade, and for the organisation's specialists to hold courses for all staff of Hafnarfjörður's lower secondary schools. Pupils in the upper years of the primary school will likewise be able to access individual counselling from the Organisation's specialists free of charge."

The Town Council refers the following proposal to the Municipal Council:“The City Council of Hafnarfjörður approves the allocation of the plot at Kirkjuvellir 12 to Fjarðarmótar ehf, in accordance with the application on file and the further conditions of the City's Planning and Building Officer.“

Item 2 from the minutes of the Finance Committee meeting of 13 April. Draft annual accounts for the municipal fund of Hafnarfjörður and its enterprises for 2014 were presented.The Finance Manager attended the meeting and went over the annual accounts. The Town Council refers the current draft of the annual accounts to a first reading in the Town Council.
