      A letter was presented, dated 23 August, from the trustee in the bankruptcy proceedings of Gosmúr ehf., registration no. 670201-2870, requesting a change of name for plots no. 1, 3 and 5 at Furuás.

      The town council approves the name change.

      The Town Council refers the matter to the second reading and final disposal in the Town Council.

    • 0708061 – ÍBH, request for a review of Article 7 of the cooperation agreement

      The sports representative attended the meeting.

      The town council agrees to instruct the sports representative, together with the administrative and financial department, to continue working on the matter.

    • 0705199 – Finance Director of Hafnarfjörður Municipality.

      Lagður fram listi yfir umsækjendur í stöðu fjármálastjóra Hafnarfjarðarbæjar. Bæjarstjóri gerði grein fyrir fyrirætlan sinni að ráða Gerði Guðjónsdóttur, löggiltan endurskoðanda, í starf fjármálastjóra. %0D%0D

      The Town Council gives a positive recommendation. The Town Council welcomes Gerður Guðjónsdóttir to the post of Finance Director and wishes her every success in her work. The Town Council also thanks Sveinn Bragason, the outgoing Finance Director, for his good collaboration and distinguished service to the Town of Hafnarfjörður for nearly two decades, and wishes him all the best in his new endeavours.

    • 0701061 – Support for political organisations in Hafnarfjörður.

      The mayor outlined the changed legal framework regarding support for political organisations.

      The matter is deferred between meetings.

    • 0703082 – Equality Policy of the Municipality of Hafnarfjörður 2007-2011.

      Drafts of the City of Hafnarfjörður's equality policy for 2007-2011 were presented, but the drafts were referred from the Democracy and Equality Committee to the Town Council for its opinion.

      The matter is deferred between meetings.

    • 0707015 – Master Plan of Hafnarfjörður 2005-2025 Krýsuvík, request for amendment

      The Planning and Building Committee referred the matter to the Town Council for consideration and presentation.

      The Town Council instructs the Planning and Building Committee to commence work on amendments to the master plan in accordance with the cooperation declaration between the Municipality of Hafnarfjörður and Hitaveita Suðurnesja of 30 March 2006.

    • 0701267 – Social rental flats, sale.

      The matter was referred from the Family Council to the Town Council with a proposal for the sale of a social housing flat owned by the City of Hafnarfjörður at Skúlaskeiði 40.

      The town council supports the recommendation of the family council.

      A grant application, dated 23 August, was submitted from the Reykjavik Chess Club for the European Club Cup, which will be held in Turkey in early October 2007.
