• 1901120 – Cultural grants, changes to the 2019 allocation rules

  See proposal for amendments to Article 5 of the rules for the allocation of cultural grants.

  Amendments to Article 5 of the allocation regulations have been approved. The updated regulations take effect immediately and will be applied in the next allocation. The addition is as follows: The Culture and Tourism Committee may enter into two- or three-year partnership agreements for cultural activities that have proven their value to the cultural life of Hafnarfjörður, with the approval of the Town Council and subject to the approval of the relevant annual budget.

• 18129469 – Cultural Grants 2019

  Staff have been tasked with continuing to work on the matter. Applications for the early allocation of 2019 will be invited no later than 15 January.

• 1810214 – Christmas Village 2018

  Project manager Andri Ómarsson was the guest of the meeting and reviewed the implementation of the 2018 Christmas Village. The committee expresses its satisfaction with the implementation of the Christmas Village and particularly the significant increase in visitors year on year. The committee emphasises that for the 2019 Christmas Village, the following points should be specifically considered: opening hours, particularly evening opening, Christmas decorations in the town, both at municipal institutions and in public spaces, and the continuation of the awards for the best-decorated house and best-decorated street.

• 1901121 – Krýsuvík - Seltún, tourism

  Landscape architect Berglind Guðmundsdóttir was the guest at the meeting and went over the production of information signs in Seltún.

• Bus station in the centre of Hafnarfjörður

  Work is continuing on the matter.

• 1807155 – Review of the City of Hafnarfjörður's culture and tourism policy

  The current tourism policy was presented for information.
