The proposal was approved by three votes of the majority. Representatives of the Independence Party wish to record: “The representatives of the Independence Party refer to their previous position on the matter.  We would like to refer to our proposal, which was rejected at the last meeting of the Education Committee, where it was suggested that a specific investigation be made into the options available for school premises in the town to meet the generally growing demand.  Regarding the relocation of additional premises to the Hraunvallar school site, we point out that space on the site is limited and there have been requests for improvements to the play areas there. It is also not clear to what extent the proposed works will be of long-term use.“
