-
US060042 – Designations under the general plan and the Nature Conservation Act
UHN/Sd 21 thanks Þráinn for the presentation. The committee postpones its decision on the matter. The committee requests that the proposals be presented to the Planning and Building Committee. In view of the increased demand for the upland area, the committee considers it timely to look at the area as a whole by drawing up a framework plan.
-

The committee encourages the municipality to participate in the project.

Letter from Árni B. Stefánsson dated 07.09.2007, requesting a grant of kr. 250,000 for the preservation of the cave Leiðarenda. The Town Council referred the matter to UHN/Sd 21 for consideration at its meeting 3183 on 27 September 2007.
UHN/Sd 21 welcomes the initiative of Árni B. Stefánsson to protect the cave and recommends that the project be supported. The committee also requests to be kept informed of the project's progress.
-
0709256 – Environment Forum 12-13 October 2007, nature conservation and biodiversity
Two representatives from UHN/Sd 21 will attend the conference.
-
0709069 – South Coast Road, proposal from the town council of 4th September, referred to the Environment Committee/Local Agenda 21
The Local Agenda 21 Project Manager is reviewing the matter.
UHN/Sd 21 is surprised that the matter was not referred to her before a decision was taken. Her opinion is of no consequence once a permit has already been granted and the investigation has begun. The Committee hopes, however, that the Highways Agency's final arrangements will be satisfactory.
