The Family Council generally endorses the views expressed in the report and refers the further implementation of individual recommendations and their execution to the Director of Services and Development, Hafnarfjörður's Employment Centre, the Work School and the Director of the Family Services Department. • 0702123 – Youth centres, organisational changes

Ellert B. Magnússon, Geir Bjarnason, Jóhanna Fleckenstein, Helga Vala Gunnarsdóttir and Birgitta Björnsdóttir attended the meeting.

The representatives of the Social Democratic Alliance propose the following:

“The Family Council endorses the minutes of the ITH of 22.03. and instructs the Head of Department to work on the implementation of the proposals set out in the report.“

Representatives of the Independence Party and the Left-Greens thank the proposals put forward by the working group on organisational changes to the management of youth centres, but also propose that their implementation be postponed until a decision has been made on further changes to the administration of Hafnarfjörður. Changes to the activities and services for children and young people should not be made if clear and unequivocal arguments are not present. At this time, there is a desire within the Hafnarfjörður town council to review the operations of the Family and Education Department, in light of the fact that the responsibilities for disabled people will transfer to the municipality at the turn of the year.In connection with this merger, it is appropriate to simultaneously review the organisational structure of sports, youth and prevention matters, with a view to the potential for increased efficiency and integration of services for children and young people, as well as increased transparency in the administration of Hafnarfjörður Municipality.

The proposals are referred to the town council.

      2. How many of them have attended the after-school club's leisure activities at each school during the period?

      3. Can children who do not attend the full-day school register for the after-school activities?

      4. Has a survey been conducted into why children who do not make use of the after-school club's leisure activities do not do so? Whether this is because they take part in other hobbies or sports, due to a lack of funds, or for some other reason?

      5. How much does each course cost?

      6. How long does each course last?
