  Report on a meeting with the Executive Board of St. Joseph's Hospital-Solvang, which took place on 17 January.

  The Family Council reiterates the town council's resolution from the 13th. October last, and emphasises that with the proposed merger of Landspítali University Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital, the hospital will be guaranteed the operational foundations to continue providing the important local service it has offered to the residents of Hafnarfjörður, e.g. links with the health service and X-ray and diagnostic services, and urges the Minister for Welfare to ensure this is the case. The Council also stresses the importance of resolving the uncertainty surrounding the operation of both Sólvangur and St. Joseph's Hospital as soon as possible.Reference is made to the letter from the Minister for Social Affairs, dated 3 December 2010, which emphasises that the merger of the institutions must take place on an equal footing.
