  “The town councillor for the Independence Party regrets that the preparation of this matter has not been discussed or presented to the Executive Board at an earlier stage.This procedure of handling this matter directly through the town council without the involvement of the executive council runs counter to the administrative structure as set out in the town council's organisational chart.

  Consequently, the undersigned has not had the opportunity to familiarise herself with the matter in detail, to make comments, or to take it up for substantive discussion on another administrative forum.

  However, it is clear that this is a financial commitment in the form of a lease agreement, and that in addition, refurbishments to adapt the premises leased will entail expenditure, as will uncertainty regarding the disposal of other municipal properties will arise.

  How this is consistent with the assumptions of the financial plan, which envisages a total cut of 700 million króna is difficult to see at first glance.“
