1209309 – Heiðvangur 28, query to the planning and building officer
Gudmundur Jónsson of Heiðvangur 28 is submitting an enquiry regarding the construction of an unheated storage shelter on the south gable of the garage – the extension will face into the garden. Dimensions – length 4100 mm (the same as the garage width) and a width of approximately 1700 mm. The roof would be single-pitched, with a height of approximately 1700 mm at the house and about 1300-1400 mm at its lowest point.
The Planning and Building Officer is negative towards the application. According to the detailed plan for the residential area in the North Town for plot 4, to which Heiðvangur 28 belongs, it is not permitted to build further on the plot boundaries than has already been done.

Bergsveinn Jónsson makes an enquiry on 18 September about an extension to a house, concerning an extension to the garage. Furthermore, with these changes, the noise pollution from the large car park will be significantly reduced.
The Planning and Building Officer is negative towards the application. According to the detailed plan for the residential area in the North Town for plot 4, to which 15 Nordurvangur belongs, it is not permitted to build further on the plot boundaries than has already been done. 1201327 – Einivellir 5, construction stage and inspections
Einivellir 5 is registered at construction stage 7, despite the fact that no final inspection has taken place. The Planning and Building Officer called for a final inspection on 12 March 2012 at 15:00 in accordance with Article 36 of the Construction Act No. 160/2010. The Planning and Building Officer called for a final inspection on 30 April 2012. The building supervisor, Anton Kjartansson, was required to take the measures stipulated by law. Should he fail to comply, the planning and building officer would apply the provisions of Articles 56 and 57 of the same law regarding daily fines and a reprimand. The Planning and Building Officer imposed a fine of kr. 20,000 per day on the building supervisor, Anton Kjartansson, from 1 September 2012, in accordance with section 56 of the Act on Construction Works No. 160/2010, had he not applied for the final inspection by that date. Further evidence has come to light showing that a progress inspection/final inspection did not take place when the previous building supervisor withdrew from the project, and he is therefore still considered to be the building supervisor, not Anton Kjartansson.
The Planning and Building Officer requires the building supervisor to finalise the matter and apply for a final inspection within 4 weeks. Failure to respond to this request will result in the Planning and Building Officer invoking the provisions of the Building Regulations Act to compel remedial action. Furthermore, the daily fines against Anton Kjartansson are cancelled.

1005162 – Eskivellir 3, final inspection
A new email from Páll Viggó Bjarnason on behalf of the residents' association of Eskivellir 3, dated 16.05.10, was received, requesting that a final inspection of the building be carried out as soon as possible. The request was not responded to. The Planning and Building Officer scheduled a final inspection for 15:00 on 27 April 2012, in accordance with Article 36 of the Construction Act No. 160/2010. The building surveyor, Anton Kjartansson, was required to take the measures stipulated by law. Further evidence has since come to light showing that a progress inspection/final inspection did not take place when the previous building surveyor withdrew from the project. He is therefore still considered to be the building surveyor, not Anton Kjartansson.
The Planning and Building Officer requires the building surveyor to finalise the matter and apply for a final inspection within 4 weeks.
