    • 1004383 – Harbour City, vision

      The Director reported on the progress of work on the vision for Hafnarborg and the group meeting to be held on Friday, 14th October. A group has been convened intended to form a cross-section of stakeholders. The aim is to give consultants an opportunity to gauge the mood and opinion of the group on specific issues that they review. This is being done in collaboration with consultants from Capacent, who have waived their fee for all preparatory work.

      The exhibitions of 2012 and the main priorities were discussed.

    • 09102156 – Harbour City, a work of art in a public space

      The director presented ideas for installing a work from Hafnarborg's collection in Ásvallalaug. The work is by the sculptor Einar Má Guðvarðarson and is titled Landvættur (1995). The matter is being worked on in collaboration with the manager of swimming venues, and the aim is for the work to be installed by the end of the year. At the same time, the restoration of the work, which has been ongoing for several years, will be completed.

    • 1004384 – Harbour City, new arrivals

      The museum has received a painting of Dr Bjarni Snæbjörnsson, an honorary citizen of Hafnarfjörður. The gift is accompanied by a letter of donation from the Ministry of Social Affairs. The museum has acquired three works by Pétur Thomsen from the photographic series Ásfjall.

      The board decided to meet with a representative of Bjarni Snæbjörnsson's family regarding the further handling of the work.

    • 1004380 – Port City, support and partnership agreements

      Support for lunchtime concerts announced. Four companies in Hafnarfjörður are supporting the concerts for the winter of 2011–2012: the Fjörður Shopping Centre, Fura, Stálskip and Maður lifandi (Lifandi Markaður). Other fundraising during the year has exceeded expectations, with the collection already raising 6,400,000 in self-generated income, against a forecast of 4,600,000.

      The board welcomes the publication of an exhibition catalogue for the 'Hugvit, Einar Þorsteinn Ásgeirsson' exhibition and expresses its interest in making such a publication an annual event.$line$$line$There was discussion about museum shops and their value.$line$$line$Discussions about meetings of the board and the Hafnarborg artistic council.

      The board decided on three meetings for the rest of the year and that meetings will be held on a regular basis once a month next year. The same applies to the arts council.
