• 0901156 – Youth centres, events 2009

  The ÍTH Primary School Festival was held on 5th March in the Sports Hall by Strandgata, and was attended by around 750 young people. We are pleased with how it turned out, but it is clear that attendance was considerably lower than in previous years. The teenagers from the Öldin Youth Club received an award for the best design of an advertisement for the event.

  A report was presented for information, containing young people's responses on increased family time, how to encourage further participation in organised sports and youth work, and delaying the onset of alcohol consumption.

• 0902300 – Summer job at ÍTH, 2009

  The Head of Youth and Leisure Services reported on the status of the 2009 summer programme, and the summer jobs were advertised for application last weekend.

• 0902262 – Hafnarfjörður Shooting Club electrical and water connections

  Sports- and Recreation Committee proposes that a contract be entered into with the Hafnarfjörður Shooting Sports Association for the works on the association's sports grounds as requested, in accordance with the cooperation agreement between the Hafnarfjörður Sports Federation and the Municipality of Hafnarfjörður.

  The Sports and Leisure Committee draws attention to the fact that decisions regarding the maintenance of structures are made when the budget is drawn up. No information or request for works at Hraunbyrgi was available at the time the 2009 budget was drawn up. The ITH also directs the Property Company to seek solutions to resolve the immediate problem that arose concerning the kitchen.;

  The Sports and Leisure Committee proposes that the construction of a temporary stand be delayed until it is necessary, i.e. when building the permanent stand at Hauka's Football Ground.

• 0903105 – Capital Region Ski Area, Annual Accounts

  The Sports Officer presented the draft annual accounts of the capital region's ski areas, along with the Sports Officer's report.

• 0903106 – The Sörli Riding Club, Youth Committee, grant application

  A proposal from the youth committee of the Riding Club Sörli, dated 23rd February, has been submitted, requesting a grant for participation in 'Youth and the Horse', which will take place on the 14th and 15th of March.

  The Sports and Leisure Committee approves a grant of kr. 50,000 for the event and also requests a cost estimate for the competition.
