The aim in making the book was for parents or others who

the world to assess the spiritual and psychosocial needs of children during
COVID-19 is ongoing. The framework for the discussion was developed from the findings

released in its final form. You are my hero is a book that should preferably
to be read by a parent (or teacher or other childcare provider) for
a child or a small group of children. It is not recommended that children read the book without support.

The project was developed by a reference group of the harmonised

Icelandic Red Cross has translated this children's book into Icelandic – and
it is also available in various other languages (see below!) “My Hero is You” is a book written for children around the
The world affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is free of charge and available
online.

A framework of topics to be addressed through the story was
developed using survey results from 1700 people around the world. The book
was shared through storytelling to children in several countries affected by
COVID-19. Feedback from children, parents and caregivers was then used to
Review and update the story. “My Hero is You” should be read by a parent,
caregiver or teacher alongside a child or a small group of children. It is not
children were encouraged to read this book independently without the support of
a parent, caregiver or teacher.
