The City of Hafnarfjörður is seeking suggestions from residents and other interested parties for a name for a new nursery school in Bjarkavellir, Hafnarfjörður.
The nursery at Bjarkavellir in Hafnarfjörður will be a four-unit school for around 100 children. It is planned to have about 25 children per unit, aged 2 to 5. The school's design began in August 2014 and the work was completed in January 2015. The nursery will be built to designs by Sigurlaug Sigurjónsdóttir. Construction is in full swing and the school is scheduled to open on 4th August, or when all the town's schools reopen after the summer holidays. There are now nearly 5,000 people living in Völlunum, and the nursery will address the pressing need for nursery places in the neighbourhood.
Suggestions for the name of the new nursery are requested to be sent to the email address: hafnarfjordur@hafnarfjordur.is by Tuesday, 1st March at the latest.
