New Head of Support Services
Guðrún Frímannsdóttir has been appointed Manager of Support Services at Family Services. Guðrún is a qualified social worker and has worked as one for most of her career, with the exception of five years as a programme presenter and journalist for RÚV.
Guðrún Frímannsdóttir has been appointed Head of the Support Services Department at Family Services. Guðrún is a social worker by training and has worked as one for most of her career, with the exception of five years as a programme and news presenter at RÚV. Guðrún has been the social services manager for Fljótsdalshérað since mid-2010. She was the Executive Director of Child Protection in Reykjavík from 2000 to 2005, a project manager at the Ministry of Welfare from 2005 to 2006, and has also worked independently as a social worker and a guide. It is not yet clear when Guðrún will start, but the emphasis is on it being as soon as possible.
