A proposal is presented for a planning statement for an amendment to the Master Plan of Hafnarfjörður – national land, revised municipal boundaries, and also for a new detailed plan at Leiðarendi.

At the meeting of the Planning and Building Committee of Hafnarfjörður on 18 June 2019, the following resolution was passed: A proposal for a planning statement was presented for the amendment of the Master Plan for Hafnarfjörður – national land, revised municipal boundaries, and also for a new detailed plan at Leiðarendi. Instead of preparing two statements, they are combined into a single document in accordance with section 4.2.2 of the Planning Regulations No. 90/2013.
The Planning and Building Committee approves the proposed draft planning statement and that the procedure shall be in accordance with Section 40 of the Planning Act No. 123/2010, and refers the matter to the Borough Council for approval.
The Hafnarfjörður Town Council approved the proposed description at its meeting on 26 June 2019.
When preparing a proposal for an amendment to the general plan and for the preparation of a new detailed plan, the local council shall prepare a description of the planning project, which shall set out the council's planning objectives and provide information on the underlying assumptions, existing and proposed policies, and the planned procedure. such as on the promotion and consultation on the plan's development with the residents of the municipality and other stakeholders.
