The jury of the Icelandic Web Awards has been working hard over the past few weeks and has now selected the top five web projects in each category. The new website for the City of Hafnarfjörður is among the five web projects nominated in the category Public Website of the Year. The awards ceremony will take place in the Silverberg at the Harpa concert hall this coming Friday.

The judging panel for the Icelandic Web Awards has been working hard over the past few weeks and has now selected the top five web projects in each category. The new website for the City of Hafnarfjörður is among the five web projects nominated in the category: Official Website of the Year, and is in the running against websites from the Patent Office, the Municipality of Kópavogur, Íslandsstofa and Veitur. The awards ceremony will take place in Silfurberg at the Harpa concert hall on Friday, 27 January.

Association of the Web Industry

Association of the Web Industry (SVEF) is the professional association for those working in web-related fields in Iceland. The association's aim is to share knowledge and promote professional working practices within the industry, to serve as a forum for its members, and to act as the public face of the profession. SVEF organises the Web Awards annually; the first awards ceremony was held in 2000. The association also organises the annual IceWeb conference, an ambitious international conference on web-related topics, as well as numerous smaller lectures, discussion forums and social events for its members. SVEF has around 300 members from various fields of the web industry. Members include web developers, programmers, designers, web managers, testers, marketing managers, executives, teachers, etc.
