Nine flats added to the town's social housing system
Construction work on the development of 148 homes for Bjarg Housing Society in three blocks of flats at Nónhamar and Hringhamar in Hamranes, Hafnarfjörður, is progressing well. The first flats are expected to be ready for occupation on 1 January 2023, with the last ones on 1 September 2023. Of these 148 flats, 9 will be added to the City of Hafnarfjörður's social housing system, and lease agreements have already been finalised between Bjarg and the City of Hafnarfjörður for two flats.

One of Bjarg's greatest developments
The development of Bjarg Housing Society in Hamranes is based on an agreement with the City of Hafnarfjörður under the General Housing Act, but the City of Hafnarfjörður contributed 12% of the flats' initial capital value, or approximately 550 million krónur. From the outset, it was planned that nine flats in the buildings would be allocated to the city's social housing scheme.
