There will be no hot water in Hafnarfjörður, Garðabær, Kópavogur, Álftanes, Norðlingaholt, Hólmsheiði, Almannadalur and Breiðholt from Monday evening, 19th August until midday on Wednesday, 21st August.

Due to the connection of a new main hot water pipe, there will be no hot water in a large part of the capital area as shown on the map. The project is the first part of South Stream 2 (in Icelandic).

It is important to turn off the taps to prevent accidents and damage when the water returns.

We remind homeowners to check their in-house heating systems. The Association of Master Plumbers has compiled Guidelines for homeowners in Icelandic. It's a good idea to keep the windows closed during this time to retain heat indoors.

When the water is restored after the shutdown, leaks may occur from the extensive piping system. In such cases, it is important to report them immediately so they can be addressed promptly.
