There will be no hot water in all of Hafnarfjörður and a small part of Garðabær, from From 10 p.m. on 21 August until 10 a.m. on 23 August. The reason for this is the connection of a new hot water pipe, which will ensure that the residents of Hafnarfjörður have hot water for the future.

Construction work on Álfaskeið and Sólvangsveg has been underway since November last year and is scheduled to be completed this autumn. Veitur is renewing the main geothermal heating pipelines to increase capacity and meet the increased demand in the town due to the growth in housing. The aim is to ensure all residents of Hafnarfjörður have hot water for decades to come.
