Strengthening the school community in joy and creativity
The calm after the storm came to Asland yesterday when the annual cultural days at Asland School took place. What began as a school tradition has, over the years, developed into one of the largest neighbourhood festivals in the local area and now plays an important role in the vibrant school community in Asland.
Decades – inspiration from different times of the past
There was great anticipation among pupils, staff and visitors, and the school was full of life, colour and creativity. Pupils had been working hard on a variety of projects in the days beforehand, as the theme for the year was „Decades“. The outcome was exceptionally diverse and creative – everything from visual arts and installations to music and performance.
Parents and guardians flocked to the event, and many experienced a pleasant sense of nostalgia as they walked through the school's corridors and viewed the pupils' work, which drew inspiration from various periods of the past. The mayor honoured the school with his presence, as is tradition, and enjoyed listening to the students' lively and creative performances on stage.
„These cultural days clearly demonstrate the dynamism within our school community. Here, children have the opportunity to flourish, express themselves and work together creatively – and at the same time, the network of families and the wider neighbourhood is strengthened.“ says the mayor.
Ásland School's Culture Days are a clear example of a dynamic collaboration between the school and the community, where creativity, togetherness and joy are celebrated – and demonstrate the importance of nurturing culture and the arts within school life.
