The nursery school level received the Reputation Award 2021

The preschool sector receives the Reputation 2021 award

On this day, the Orðsporið was awarded for the eighth time. The reputation is an incentive award.
awarded to those considered to have excelled in enhancing reputation
of nursery education in the country and have worked tirelessly for the benefit of nurseries and
nursery children. Lilja Dögg Alfreðsdóttir, Minister of Education and Culture,
informed at a RannUng breakfast meeting on 5 February that the holder of the Reputation
2021 would be the nursery school level. In her address, she said, among other things:

The nursery school stage
has been under strain for the past year and teachers have had a great deal on their plates,
to the managers and all staff of the nurseries in maintaining nursery operations
ongoing. A complete feat has been accomplished at nursery level and for that
to be thankful for. I realise that this has at times been very
difficult. Therefore, I would like to thank everyone who works in the nursery school sector for
their work. You truly deserve the Reputation 2021.

Nursery School Day is a joint project of the Nursery Teachers' Association, the Association
managers of preschools, the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Association of Icelandic
local authorities and Home-School – the national parent organisation.
