Today, 6th February, is Nursery School Day, and it is celebrated in nursery schools in Hafnarfjörður as well as in other nursery schools across the country. This is a landmark day in the history of Icelandic nursery education, as on this day in 1950, pioneering nursery teachers founded their first association.
This is the eighth time the event has been held, and as before, many activities will take place to mark the occasion. Nurseries in Hafnarfjörður will celebrate the day in a variety of ways, and at the same time showcase the excellent work they do every day.
