Nursery school enrolment for autumn 2024

Autumn enrolment for 2024 has begun.

Enrolment for the nursery for autumn 2024 is now open. Letters to parents and/or guardians were sent out today, and it has already been confirmed that children born on or before 14 April 2023, for whom applications were submitted by 6 March 2024, will receive an offer of a place in the first allocation for autumn 2024. The process for the first allocation began today, and parents have five days to respond to an offer of a nursery place.

Autumn enrolment should be completed in April/May.

After this week, vacancies will continue to be offered until all available places in Hafnarfjörður's nurseries have been allocated.  If the current trend continues, all autumn enrolments should be completed by April/May. It is anticipated that children for whom applications were submitted after 6 March, or who were born after 14 April, will receive an offer of a nursery place in April/May or as soon as possible thereafter. Children who will be 16 months old in August (born in April 2023) will receive an offer of a nursery place from August/September 2024.
