OPEN HOUSE AT THE OLD TAX OFFICE

The Municipality of Hafnarfjörður is holding an open house at the old Tax Office, 14 Suðurgata, next Friday, 1st December. Between 15:00 and 17:00. The town recently purchased the building from the State Treasury and today the Tax Office houses several municipal projects. In the near future, a brainstorming session will be held to develop ideas for a name and the building's future use.

The town recently purchased the building from the State Treasury and today the Tax Office houses several of the town's projects. In the near future, a brainstorming session will be held to discuss a name and the future use of the building.

However, two projects have been established: The Wasps (employment for disabled people) and Vinaskjól (extended care for disabled people). The Wasps project. Last week, EIPA, the European Institute of Public Administration, awarded the City of Hafnarfjörður the EPSA, or the European Public Sector Award, for this project.

The award is given to public service projects that demonstrate good practice and innovative solutions to challenging issues. The theme of the 2017 EPSA awards was innovation in public service, and the awards were presented in Maastricht, the Netherlands, last week. The organisation received a total of 149 nominations from 30 member countries across all sectors and policy areas.

The house will be open for viewing on Friday between 3pm and 5pm. Music and light refreshments will be served, and everyone is welcome.
