The City of Hafnarfjörður is seeking interested parties to run a new, state-of-the-art nursery, Áshamar. The nursery is located in a beautiful, rapidly growing neighbourhood in Hamranes, Hafnarfjörður. The school offers excellent facilities for children of nursery age.

Hafnarfjörður is seeking interested parties to run a new, a magnificent six-form nursery school, Áshamar. The nursery school is located in a beautiful, rapidly A growing neighbourhood in Hamranes in Hafnarfjörður. The school offers excellent facilities for children of preschool age. 

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about the education and welfare of children, have experience in running a nursery or a similar operation, and wish to contribute to creating a safe and learning-friendly environment for the youngest residents of Hafnarfjörður.

A special emphasis is placed on collaboration with parents and the wider community, to ensure that the nursery meets the needs of the children in a diverse range of ways.

In the schools of Hafnarfjörður, emphasis is placed on well-being and integrated services for children, with a focus on diversity, creativity and collaboration for all.

 

The parties shall submit the following: 

  • A statement of the school's operational priorities and expected philosophy, in reference to the Early Years Foundation Stage, and a vision for how a learning-friendly environment will be developed to promote the holistic development of children, with an emphasis on well-being and social skills.
  • A statement of experience in running a nursery school or a comparable operation.

 

It shall be borne in mind that the work of the nursery school shall be in accordance with Cultural policy of Hafnarfjörður which is based on participation, cooperation and respect for the different needs of children.
