Applications are now open for the Christmas Village at Thorsplan in Hafnarfjörður 2021. As before, the Christmas Village is looking to partner with individuals, organisations and businesses that have quality products at a good price and a diverse range of merchandise, with a promise of life and festive cheer at their stall.

The preparations for Christmas in Hafnarfjörður begin with the opening of applications for the Christmas Village.  

Applications are now open for the Christmas Village at Thorsplan in Hafnarfjörður 2021. As before, the Christmas Village is looking to partner with individuals, organisations and businesses that have quality products at a good price and a diverse range of merchandise, with a promise of life and festive cheer at their stall.

Would you like to be part of the Christmas Village this year? The selection is from the submitted applications. 

In the Christmas Village, there will be about twenty decorated prefabricated houses which are 5.8 m.2 in size. There has been a good turnout at the Hafnarfjörður Christmas Village's sales pavilion in recent years, and therefore the selection from the submitted applications is made with special consideration of several factors. The Christmas Village is scheduled to open at the end of November and will be open throughout Advent on Saturdays and Sundays from 13:00 to 18:00, and until 22:00 on Christmas Eve. The rental fee for a sales hut is kr. 16,000 for the weekend. The rental fee includes all costs for setup, running of the building, and cleaning of the area. In addition, the City of Hafnarfjörður will promote the Christmas Village in Hafnarfjörður through various means in social and mainstream media and attract visitors with an entertainment programme.

Sellers must comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding the goods for sale. If a product or product category is in any way restricted or subject to the granting of a licence, the seller must make themselves aware of this and obtain the relevant licences. This applies, for example, to the sale of food, drink, alcoholic beverages and other products that may be subject to regulation. Sellers are also encouraged to check whether and what insurance may be appropriate, where applicable. The placement of Christmas houses is determined by the overall appearance of the village and what best suits that purpose.

Application deadline: 20 October 2021
