An open house will be held at St. Joseph's Hospital on Saturday, 2nd September, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Tours of the premises will be available, and guests will have the opportunity to share their ideas for the future of the building.  The City of Hafnarfjörður has acquired the entire 3,000-square-metre property and has committed to providing public services in the building for at least the next 15 years.

The working group on the future of St. Joseph's Hospital places great emphasis on getting ideas from local residents, and an online portal has been opened where people can submit their ideas to the group. Ideas are sought from individuals, community groups and businesses for activities that would bring this historic building to life and be a source of pride and joy for residents of Hafnarfjörður and their visitors.

Hafnarfjörður residents and other interested parties are encouraged to attend the open house to learn about this historic house and submit proposals for its future use. Hot drinks will be available, along with various informative materials. Entry is via the chapel.

Ideas can be submitted to the working group here.. All ideas will be treated as confidential upon request. The working group will process the submitted proposals as well as other ideas and will report its findings to the Town Council no later than 15th October.
