Outdoor Recreation Area on the North Shore – surface works have begun
In April 2021, the City of Hafnarfjörður invited tenders for the 'Norðurbakki – Outdoor Recreation Area' project, which involves the resurfacing of the quay and quay side at Norðurbakki in Hafnarfjörður. Verktækni ehf was found to have the most favourable bid and an agreement was reached with them for the project in early summer. Surface work has begun.

A diverse and captivating outdoor area
This concerns a recreational area and a walking trail that connects to the town centre. The project involves the first phase of surfacing the bank, with the aim of making the North Bank a diverse and attractive outdoor recreational area as part of the Strand – stretching from Langeyrarmelar to the small boat harbour. The work began in July and is scheduled for completion in November.
