At the National Register, voters can check where they are on the electoral roll for the parliamentary elections. When a National Registration Number is entered, a name, legal residence and municipality are displayed. Information about the polling station and electoral division also usually appears. The electoral register reference date is 12 noon on 29 October 2024. The register reference date determines where voters are registered to vote. If a voter changes their home address after that time, they will still be on the electoral register for their previous address. Voters must present photo identification at the polling station. Vote by post
If voters are unable to vote on polling day, they can vote by post. Postal voting begins on Thursday, 7 November. It is possible to vote before election day, for example at the county governors' offices and abroad. Voters in Iceland can vote at the county governors' offices. The County Governor for the Capital Region is setting up a polling station in Holtagarðar.
