Hold off on the sea swim — Sewer pipes in the mouth of Hafnarfjörður filmed
It is necessary to pump sewage into the harbour today between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. for cleaning and to form a seal on the sewer pipe located there. Sea swimmers are kindly asked to postpone their swims at Krosseyri, by Herjólfsgata and the Hafnarfjörður Swimming Pool until after the weekend.
We're looking forward to the sea swim in the area over the weekend.
Sea swimmers are asked to wait until 1 June before swimming in the harbour.
A photograph of the sewer pipe located beneath the Fjörður shopping centre, due to planned maintenance work. The pipe is to be lined, and preparatory work is underway. It is therefore necessary to divert the sewage into the harbour for the time being. Sea swimmers are kindly asked to refrain from swimming in these areas until after Friday, 1 June.
The recommendations apply to the entire harbour of Hafnarfjörður, particularly in the area by Krosseyri, Herjólfsgata and the Hafnarfjörður Swimming Pool.
