Ásfjall
It is advisable to walk up to Ásfjall, from where there is a good view over Hafnarfjörður and the neighbouring towns, not to mention the mountain ring surrounding Faxaflói. At the top of the mountain, there is a compass rose pointing to the main mountains and landmarks in the vicinity.
To the west, Ásfjallsöxl juts out from the mountain and ends in Grísanes. South of Ásfjall, Bleikisteinsháls runs westwards and as far as Hamranes. East of Ásfjall is Ásland and to its west lies Love star.
Ásfjallsvarða
On the mountain is also Ásfjallsvarða, a large, rectangular cairn. It was originally built as a landmark by sailors but was later rebuilt as a fort by British soldiers during the Second World War.
