Group work for young people with disabilities in Years 5–7
The group activity is for young people with disabilities who need additional social support and want to join a group where they have the opportunity to get to know their peers.
The aim of the group work is to provide young people with support to enhance their social skills and form connections, practise communication and build trust in a safe environment.
Emphasis will be placed on ensuring that the young people have a say in the programme, can express their opinions, and help to prepare the group's activities.
How do I apply
You need to apply for the group activities, and a parent or guardian will be contacted after the application has been submitted. A discussion with the parent or guardian, a representative from the family and children's services, and a Mosa staff member ensures that the best possible preparation is made and that participation is as enjoyable as possible.
When and where
The group activity takes place every other Thursday from 17:30 to 19:30 at Öldan, the youth centre at Öldutúnsskóli.
Supervision
Kristján Hans Óskarsson, Director of the Leisure Centreinner, manages the work alongside the staff of Öldan. For further information, you can send an email. to Kristján's email address kristjan.oskarsson@oldutunsskoli.is
