The Hundred-Year-Old Hellisgerði

A true Christmas wonderland in Hellisgerði, this century-old and beautiful pleasure garden in the centre of Hafnarfjörður. At the entrance from Reykjavíkurveg, a beautiful red Christmas heart welcomes visitors and passers-by, and then a magical world of lights and delights unfolds. String lights and illuminated figures delight the eye and the soul. Many people make their way through the garden on their walk around the Christmas town, and you can also see families on a picnic with hot chocolate and Christmas biscuits, children doing some light lava rock climbing and exploring caves, and skating on the pond at the bottom of the garden. Some have been on an adventure in search of elves and fairies, as the story goes that a great many of them live there.
