Widstadatun

Viðistadatún is a beautiful public park surrounded by lava fields, near Viðistada Church and the Hraunbúar Scout Centre. In the area, everyone should be able to find something to do to suit them.

The area boasts numerous outdoor artworks which is ideal to look at and children enjoy playing in.

There's plenty for the children to do. They can play on the climbing frame, bouncy castle and playhouse. There's also a wooded area which is fun to play in. When everyone gets hungry, you can have a barbecue in the barbecue hut, which is right next to the playhouse.

In the park is the only tennis court for residents of Hafnarfjörður, as well as a six-hole disc golf course. The course is free to use and no advance booking is necessary. In Víðistaðatún is Campsite which is open from mid-May until the end of August. 

In the area, there is a large event field where numerous events are held annually. These include exhibitions. Kennel Club of Iceland and the Viking Festival which Battle-axe gape is responsible for, in addition to Cricket Association of Iceland Holds regular training sessions in the area over the summer.
