Playground renewal – sustainability first
Playgrounds across Hafnarfjörður are being repaired and renewed. This week, the hardworking staff of the City of Hafnarfjörður completed the renovation of the playground and football pitch at Einarsreit.
Work is underway to repair and renovate playgrounds across Hafnarfjörður. This week, the hardworking staff of the City of Hafnarfjörður, together with contractors, completed the renovation of an open play and football pitch at Einarsreit. There was previously a gravel pitch and old play equipment that could certainly have done with an upgrade.
As it happened, the artificial grass on the KSÍ football pitch at Áslandsskóli was being replaced and, as it is expensive to dispose of such material and it was in good condition, it was reused on the playground at Einarsreitur.
Now it's just a case of getting stuck into a bit of a ball game and a light-hearted match.
