Over the past few days and weeks, extensive internal preparations have been taking place at Lækjargata 2 (Dvergshúsið), aimed at preparing the building for demolition. The time has now come for external works, and the demolition of the building is scheduled to take place from 27th July to 4th August, with associated disruption to pedestrians and motorists. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

From 27th July to 4th August, Dverghúsið will be demolished.

From 27th July to 4th August, the annex at 2 Lækjargata (the Dwarf House) will be demolished. Lækjargata will be completely closed until and including Sunday, 30th July, while both Brekkugata and Suðurgata will be closed 24/7 for the duration of the works. Residents of these streets are advised to park their cars at the Fjörður car park, the sports hall on Strandgata, or the music school during the closure. Essential traffic will be permitted through the streets, but all traffic must be kept to a minimum for safety reasons. Pedestrian signals across Lækjargata will be deactivated for the duration of the works, and the speed limit will be reduced to 30 km/h. In light of this, we ask both motorists and pedestrians to take particular care during this time.

We thank you for your understanding while these works are carried out.
