Today, an information meeting about health-promoting nurseries and primary schools was held for managers of the town's nurseries and primary schools, following Hafnarfjörður's agreement to become a health-promoting community. The meeting was held at Hraunvallaskóli, where around 30 people took part. At the meeting, three schools, Flensborgarskólinn, Hraunvallaskóli and Hvaleyrarskóli, presented how they operated and implemented the „Health-Promoting Secondary/Primary School“ project within their schools, and the projects they were working on this term. The project is to be made available to nurseries from autumn 2015.
A healthy school is a project run by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer.
